RADIO & TELEVISION COMMERCIAL VOICEOVER WORKSHOP
Have you always had an interest in working in the voice over industry but don't know where to begin? Are you an actor looking for additional ways to earn income? Or are you looking for an opportunity to gain in-studio experience without the pressure of an audition or session?

This radio and television commercial voice over workshop will provide you with information about the industry while giving you a WEEKLY workout in the studio behind the mic. Each class will include instruction and a recording session giving the participants maximum time in front of the mic. We'll take a look at the industry and where the work is, exploring the different reads that are required depending on the medium. Other topics covered will include vocal and physical warm-ups, mic and headphone technique, plosive control, studio etiquette, finding your signature voice, script analysis, punches, wild takes, demo tapes, rates, union vs. non-union, marketing yourself, and getting an agent.


WORKSHOP INFORMATION
One day introductory workshop will give you an overview of the voice over industry. Maximum number of students 12. Four evening sessions in an intensive voice over workshop also available. Maximum number of students for intensive is 8. Private coaching also available by request.

CAROL ALEXANDER OVERVIEW
Carol Alexander is an actor/voice over artist/radio announcer with over 15 years experience in both the Toronto and Vancouver markets. Her national commercial voiceover credits include Ford, IGA, Safeway, McDonald's, Shell, Sears, Microsoft, Arbys, 7-Eleven and locally she's been the voice of countless campaigns including the BC Teachers Federation, Telus, Coast Capital Savings, BC Hydro, ICBC, White Spot, The Vancouver Sun, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the Canadian Mental Health Association. As an actor Carol appeared in the feature film Duets, and has had roles in the television series John Doe, Steven Spielberg's Taken, Cold Squad, Millenium and Beyond Belief. Carol's on-air career in Vancouver radio has included QMFM, KISSFM, JRFM, 600AM and 650CISL. She currently hosts the talk show Experts on Call Sunday mornings on CFUN 1410am.reserve a spot.
